Bridging people to hope is the very picture of the cross. Jesus gave us all hope when He bridged the gap between our sinful selves and a Holy God.
Vulnerable children and families are suspect to feeling hopeless due to challenges and obstacles they sometimes face. You may have been there or may feel that way at times now. We want to be the connection of Christ's love and hope to children and families hurting and in crisis.
At First Baptist Church of Lake Placid we want to engage vulnerable children and families with God's love in practical ways. Components of this ministry at this time are Wrap Around Care, Bridging Hope Closet, Support Groups, and Trauma Training.
At FBCLP some of us are going to bring children into our homes; the rest of us are going to find ways to serve and support them. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:4-5.

"The goal of your church is not simply to start a peripheral ministry a few are involved in; it’s to establish a foundation culture of caring for orphaned and vulnerable children everyone has a role to play in. An environment where it's understood that while we're not all called to do the same thing, we're all certainly capable of doing something. That's the goal. Everyone. Doing. Something"
The above words are penned by Jason Johnson of CAFO, Christian Alliance for Orphans.
We here at FBCLP are in full agreement with what Jason has written and are striving for everyone to find their something!!
